Indian Traditional Agriculture is a chemical-free natural farming method. It is agroecology based diversified farming system which integrates crops, trees and livestock with functional biodiversity. It is effective in increasing production, sustainability, saving of water use, improvement in soil health and farmland ecosystem. It is considered as a cost- effective farming practices with scope for raising employment and rural development.
Traditional agricultural practices have been an integral part of food production in India since ages. These practices have the potential to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change with spatial and sequential diversity. Traditional farming has a significant role in achieving the sustainability of agriculture by improving nutrition quality.
Indian Traditional Health Care System – Ayurveda
- The Sanskrit word “ Ayurveda” means “ Science of Life”. Ayurveda is based on ancient writings that rely on a natural and holistic approach to physical and mental health. Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world’s oldest medical systems and one of India’s traditional health care systems. Ayurvedic treatment combines products mainly derived from plants,diet, exercise, and lifestyle.
